Public Art Projects
My contributions to two separate public art events are shown in this gallery.
In the Spring and through the fall of the year 2000, the Young Leadership Council of New Orleans, in partnership with the Arts Council of New Orleans held the largest public art event in the city's history. The Festival of Fins. Over 150 local artists participated and 200 fiberglass fish were on public display throughout the New Orleans area. "Tour de Grouper" and "Red Baroncuda," shown in this gallery, were my contributions to a great, fun filled and charitable event.
And, on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans, in the city of Mandeville, the Mandeville Trailhead established itself as an arts center in 2001 with the city's first art showing and festival. Artoberfest. "Great Blue Heron," a mixed-media relief style acrylic painting, an iron "Circle of Life" sculpture and a modernized faux bamboo, formerly brass, candelabra are also shown in this gallery.
